coat of arms
Blazon : " On yellow background of black, gnawing on brown piece of branch, sitting beaver . »
Like almost all communities in the Reiat , beavers did not have their own coat of arms before 1800. The first can be found in 1814 on a seal of the localities Bibern and Hofen , which at that time formed a political municipality. The seal represents an upright plowshare as a symbol for agriculture. With the separation of the communities in 1860, beavers created a new seal image with the beaver. In the meantime, the gnawing beaver was pictured next to a body of water. But since this did not correspond to the heraldry , the coat of arms was cleaned up and the water removed. |
