Oreokastro ( Greek Ωραιοκάστρο ( n. Sg. )) Is a municipality in the Greek region of Central Macedonia . According to the 2011 census, the municipality has 21,716 inhabitants, the eponymous city of Oreokastro 20,852. In 2008 the city hosted the badminton tournament Greece International 2008 , and since 2013 Oreokastro has had a city partnership with Detmold .
structure
The former municipality of Oreokastro was merged with Kallithea and Mygdonia in 2010 to form the municipality of Oreokastro , and they have had the status of municipal districts ever since. The municipality of Oreokastro itself forms the municipality of the same name (Δημοτική Κοινότητα Ωραιοκάστρου) and consists of the small town of Oreokastro and the villages of Agios Georgios, Egnatia and Neokastro.
