Oriano Quilici

Oriano Quilici (born November 29, 1929 in San Pietro a Vico , Lucca Province , Italy , † November 3, 1998 in Bern , Switzerland ) was a Roman Catholic Archbishop and diplomat of the Holy See .

Life

Oriano Quilici received on 8 December 1954 the auxiliary bishop in Rome , Archbishop Luigi Traglia , the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On November 13, 1975, Pope Paul VI appointed him . the Titular Archbishop of Tabla and ordered him to Apostolic Pro-Nuncio in the Central African Republic and the apostolic delegate in Chad and in the Republic of Congo . The Cardinal Secretary of State, Jean-Marie Villot , gave him episcopal ordination on December 7th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the secretary of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples , Curia Archbishop Bernardin Gantin , and the Bishop of Grosseto , Primo Gasbarri . On June 26, 1981, Pope John Paul II appointed him Apostolic Nuncio in Guatemala . Quilici became apostolic nuncio in Venezuela on July 11, 1990 . On July 8, 1997, he was appointed Apostolic Nuncio in Switzerland and Liechtenstein .
