The Orlica Hut ( pl. Schronisko PTTK Orlica ) is located at an altitude of 520 m above sea level. NN in Poland between the Little Pieniny and the Middle Pieninen on a slope above the Dunajec -Insel Cypel on Pieninenweg . The hut has 44 beds. The area belongs to the Szczawnica spa .
history
The hut was built before 1932 as a private hostel. After the Second World War , Polskie Towarzystwo Turystyczno-Krajoznawcze (PTTK) took over the hut. It has been rebuilt and modernized several times, the last time in 2016. It was named after Józefa Madei . In the neighboring building there is an exhibition of the Ośrodek Kultury Turystyki Górskiej PTTK w Pieninach section of the Pienin Museum .
Accesses
The hut can be reached as follows:
- ▬ on the red marked Pieninenweg from Szczawnica and Červený Kláštor
- ▬ on the blue marked ridge path from the Middle Pieninen to the Little Pieninen.
The hut can also be reached by car. However, access is only free for residents. Not far from the hut there is the Nowy Przewóz ferry connection to the other side of the Dunajec.
