Location of Pacijan with the borough of San Francisco |
Pacijan is a Philippine island and is located in the Camotes Sea between the Philippine main islands of Cebu and Leyte , in the south is Bohol .
The island is 61.4 km² and measures approximately 18 km in north-south direction and 15 km in east-west direction. It belongs to the borough ( bayan or municipality ) San Francisco .
Pacijan belongs to the Camotes Islands with Poro , Ponson and Tulang . The islet of Tulang is in the north. It was connected to the neighboring island of Poro directly to the east by a bridge over 100 years ago, today only a narrow arm of the sea separates the two islands. The main town of San Francisco is located here.
In the north of the island is the five-kilometer-long Danao Lake , in which there are two small islands and on the banks of which two parks have been created. There are several beaches: Santiago Bay in the southeast, Bakhaw near Esperanza and Mangodlong near Himensulan with an offshore coral island.
Tulang
About 400 m off the north coast is the small island of Tulang and stretches for 1.5 km with a narrow end in the southeast and a wide end in the northwest. The island belongs to the Barangay Esperanza and, like Pacijan, to the municipality of San Francisco.
