description

The baroque hall church has a retracted choir tower in the east , which has been preserved from the previous building. It was built no later than the beginning of the 16th century. The late Gothic , coupled tracery windows on the bell storey also allow an earlier construction date. The tower has three floors , as can be seen on the wall anchors . A fire destroyed the church in 1640. The nave was rebuilt by 1721 and covered with a gable roof with a crooked hip . Later the tower got an eight-sided, high, slate-roofed oneTent roof , which is flanked at the corners by four small pointed tent roofs. The hall was spanned with a wooden barrel vault in 1754 , which was painted over at the end of the 19th century and in 1958. The lower of the two-storey galleries is from the construction period. Its parapets are painted with scenes from the New Testament . The upper gallery was only built in 1852.

In the former groin-vaulted choir on the first floor of the tower there is a late-Gothic sacrament house decorated with pinnacles . The classical altar has four powerful Corinthian columns . There are vases on its entablature . The pulpit is dated 1821. Its carving and the figures of the evangelists date from the 18th century. The pews are from the construction time. A crucifix from the 15th century is part of the church furnishings .

The first organ was built in 1694 by Johann Friedrich Wender . It was renewed in 1721 by an unknown organ builder . In 1817 Johann Friedrich Schulze installed today's organ with 16 registers , divided into two manuals and a pedal , in the old prospectus . It was repaired around 1960 by Rudolf Böhm and in 1995 by Alexander Schuke .
