Parliamentary election in Iran in 1992
The Iranian parliamentary elections in 1992 took place on April 10, 1992. It was the first parliamentary elections in Iran after the death of the legal scholar Ruhollah Khomeini . Two parliamentary groups stood for election, the pragmatists who were close to President Rafsanjani - who ultimately prevailed in the election - and the radicals who had “post-revolutionary” ideals.
