Parliamentary election in Iran 2000
The 2000 Iranian parliamentary elections took place on February 18, 2000.
To the prehistory
Before the election, the age limit for the right to vote was raised from 16 to 17 years. This meant that 38.7 million Iranians were eligible to vote. 6,083 candidates were allowed to vote; the Guardian Council did not admit 650 candidates.
