Election winner Ali-Akbar Hāschemi Rafsanjāni

In the Iranian presidential election in 1993 on June 11, 1993 , President Akbar Hāschemi Rafsanjāni , who was elected in 1989 , was confirmed in office.

Result

The total of 16,796,787 votes were distributed as follows:

Ahmad Tavakkoli 4,026,789 23.97%
Abdollah Jasebi 1,498,084 8.92%
Rajab Ali Taheri 387,655 2.31%

Even if he lost significantly in votes compared to the presidential election in 1989 (minus 4.9 million votes, minus 34 percentage points), Rafsanjani started his second term in office with this election victory, at the end of which he was not allowed to run again according to the constitution.
