Parliamentary election in Iran in 1984

The 1984 Iranian parliamentary election took place on April 15, 1984 and was the second parliamentary election after the Islamic Revolution and the first parliamentary election during the First Gulf War in Iran . The election campaign began two weeks before the election.

The Islamic Republican Party surprisingly did not win an absolute majority. Ayatollah Akbar Hāschemi Rafsanjāni was elected speaker by the new parliament.
