Patricia Sarrapio (born November 16, 1982 in Madrid ) is a Spanish triple jumper .

Athletic career

Patricia Sarrapio gained her first international experience at the Junior World Championships 2000 in Santiago de Chile , where she was eliminated from the qualification with 12.66 m. The following year she finished eighth at the Junior European Championships in Grosseto with 13.15 m, as well as at the Mediterranean Games in 2005 in Almería with 13.53 m. In 2006 she won the Ibero-American Championships in Ponce with a width of 13.82 m and thus qualified for the European Championships in Gothenburg , where she could not qualify for the final with 13.57 m. At the European Indoor Championships in Birmingham the following year, 13.73 m was not enough for the final. Then she was at the Summer Universiade in Bangkok with a jump to 13.81 m sixth and then took part for the first time in the World Championships in Osaka , where she was eliminated with 13.55 m in the qualification. In 2008 and 2009, the preliminary rounds followed at the World Indoor Championships in Valencia at home and the European Indoor Championships in Turin .

In 2010 she won the bronze medal at the Ibero-American Championships in San Fernando with 14.10 m behind the Cuban Yargelis Savigne and Caterine Ibargüen from Colombia. So she qualified again for the European Championships in Barcelona , where she was eliminated with 13.21 m in the first round, as well as in 2011 at the European Indoor Championships in Paris with 13.98 m and the World Championships in Daegu with 13.12 m. In 2012, she did not succeed at the World Indoor Championships in Istanbul and at the European Championships in Helsinki and the Olympic Games in London she could not qualify for the final with 13.64 m . The following year she finished fifth at the European Indoor Championships in Gothenburg with a new personal best of 14.07 m. At the 2014 European Championships in Zurich , the qualification was again eliminated with a width of 13.41 m, as was the case at the European Indoor Championships in Prague in the winter with 13.47 m.

In 2016 she took part again in the European Championships in Amsterdam and the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , but again did not reach the final with 13.35 m . In 2018 she finished fourth at the Mediterranean Games in Tarragona with 13.85 m and was eliminated from the qualification at the European Championships in Berlin with 13.87 m, as well as at the European Indoor Championships in Glasgow the following year with 13.67 m. In the same year she also took part in the World Championships in Doha , in which she did not reach the final with 13.58 m .

From 2011 to 2013 and 2016 Sarrapio was Spanish champion in the triple jump outdoors and in 2008 and 2009, 2013, 2015 and 2019 also indoors.
