Paul Hauenschild
Paul Hauenschild (born September 24, 1882 in Hamburg ; † April 26, 1962 there ) was a German football official and patron of Hamburger SV .
Career
Hamburger FC 1888
Paul Hauenschild joined Hamburger FC 1888 on February 7, 1905 . From December 1912 to July 1914 he was also its first chairman. Under his aegis, the club was renamed Hamburger SV 1888 on February 26, 1914 . In 1919 Paul Hauenschild was one of the members who promoted the merger with SC Germania 1887 and FC Falke 06 . On May 16, 1919, the merger was decided at the general assembly. On June 2, 1919, Paul Hauenschild met with the President of Germania, Otto Schwabe , and representatives of FC Falke 06 to officially merge into the Hamburger Sport-Verein von 1887 eV .
Hamburger SV
Paul Hauenschild was very active in the club life of Hamburger SV and also supported the club financially. He was elected to the office of 1st Chairman or President three times.

During his second term in office in 1928 he initiated the purchase of the 130,000 square meter site at Ochsenzoll in Norderstedt in order to build twelve sports fields there. At that time it was the largest club owned facility in Germany. On March 16, 1928, together with Henry Barrelet , Emil Martens , Ernst Moss , Henry Krüger , Willo Meyering , Hans Schuhmacher and Walter Tachau, he founded the sports field club Ochsenzoll (today HSV Ochsenzoll-Norderstedt eV), which only HSV is entitled to use was. The site was converted into the most modern sports center of its time at great expense. The facility was inaugurated on December 12, 1930. Today it bears the name "Paul Hauenschild Sports Fields".
Under his leadership of the club, HSV was declared German champions for the first time at the end of the 1921/22 season (after two finals against 1. FC Nürnberg had not brought a decision); but immediately afterwards they renounced this title "voluntarily", as the southern German football association threatened to leave the DFB .
Paul Hauenschild had also been chairman of District III (Greater Hamburg) in the NFV for many years since 1922 , comparable to today's Hamburg Football Association .
Death and remembrance
Paul Hauenschild is considered to be the greatest sponsor in the history of Hamburger SV and remained loyal to the club until his death on April 26, 1962. He bequeathed a fortune in the millions to HSV , earmarked for the sports facility in Ochsenzoll. The money was used to build a modern changing room in 1963 and a sports hall with an area of 1,092 square meters in 1965. In 1969 the construction of a large performance center began, this facility was officially inaugurated on April 24, 1971. In 1989 the "Paul Hauenschild Foundation" was established, into which Paul Hauenschild's legacy passed. In 1999 the foundation financed the construction of a football boarding school (Jürgen Werner School), and the property was transferred to the foundation.
