Paul Hein

Paul Johannes Hein (born June 26, 1865 in Wanne ; † 1945 ) was a German businessman, mining general director, member and general representative of the mining committee of the coal mine Langenbrahm trade union in Essen and a commercial judge at the regional court in Essen.

Origin and family

Paul Hein came as the son of Johannes Bernhard Hein, municipal road builder in Herne , and his wife Marie Christine Hein, b. Moers, to the world. He had been married to Emilie Emma Christine Thiel since 1891. The couple had a son named Walther.

Working life

After graduating from the Kgl. Commercial school in Bochum on January 1, 1892 as a commercial apprentice at the coal mine union Friedrich der Große in Herne and took over the cash and bookkeeping there on April 15, 1884. He then served as a one-year volunteer with the 1st Westphalian Field Artillery Regiment No. 7 in Wesel and on October 1, 1886, he was employed as an office manager and representative of the director at the Langenbrahm trade union in Essen . In September 1891 he became its director and in 1917 general director and member of the mine board.

Paul Hein was chairman of the supervisory board of Deutsche Patent-Wärmeschutz-AG ( Dortmund ), deputy chairman of the supervisory board of Stöck & Fischer GmbH ( Mainz ), chairman of the supervisory board of Aug. Menge GmbH ( Hanover ), member of the advisory board of the coal trading company Glückauf, Dept. Beck & Co. ( Kassel ), managing director of Langenbrahm-Continuation-Carbon Trading Company mb H. (Essen) and representative of the Stein III trade union. , Stone IV. , Stone VIII. , Stone XII. and Julius VII in Lippramsdorf near Haltern . The union of the coal mine Langenbrahm was one of the oldest mining enterprises of the Rhenish-Westphalian district and one of the best known and most important among the anthracite promoting pits .

Public offices

Before the incorporation of the municipality of Rüttenscheid into Essen, Hein was an unpaid alderman, member of the municipal council and mayor's council as well as the district council and district committee, after their incorporation he was a member of the council of city councils and several deputations and commissions until 1918 .
