Paulo Mendes Peixoto

Paulo Mendes Peixoto (born February 25, 1951 in Imbé ) is a Brazilian clergyman and Roman Catholic Archbishop of Uberaba .

Life

Paulo Mendes Peixoto was ordained a priest for the Caratinga diocese on December 8, 1979 .

Pope Benedict XVI appointed him on December 7, 2005 Bishop of São José do Rio Preto . The Bishop of Caratinga, Hélio Gonçalves Heleno , donated him episcopal ordination on February 25 of the next year ; Co- consecrators were José Eugênio Corrêa , Bishop Emeritus of Caratinga, and Odilon Guimarães Moreira , Bishop of Itabira-Fabriciano . He chose AD VITÆ MINISTRY as his motto .

On March 7, 2012, he was appointed Archbishop of Uberaba. On March 21, 2018, Pope Francis appointed him as Apostolic Administrator sede plena and on September 12 of the same year as Administrator sede vacante of the Diocese of Formosa . On June 1, 2019, this office ended with the inauguration of Adair José Guimarães, who was appointed Bishop of Formosa on February 27, 2019 .
