Pawel Sergejewitsch Trichitschew ( Russian Павел Сергеевич Трихичев ; Pavel Trikhichev at the FIS according to an English transcription ; born November 7, 1992 in Montschegorsk , Murmansk Oblast ) is a Russian ski racer . His strengths lie in the technical disciplines of slalom and giant slalom .

biography

Trichitschew, from Murmansk Oblast , contested his first FIS race shortly after his 15th birthday . In February 2009 he took part in the European Youth Olympic Winter Festival in Szczyrk , where he finished 23rd in slalom. A year later he started at a junior world championship on Mont Blanc for the first time and achieved a 22nd place in slalom as the best result. Sixth place in the combination of Québec 2013 marked the highlight of three other participations . On January 14, 2012 he made his debut in the European Cup . A year later he was the second to jump on a podium in the giant slalom on the Arber . He then took part in the World Championships in Schladming and reached 27th place in the giant slalom.

On March 9, 2013, he made his World Cup debut in the giant slalom of Kranjska Gora , winning first points with rank 28 in December of the same year in Val-d'Isère . In the Olympic Games of Sochi he went in four disciplines at the start and was ranked 24 in the super combined as the best result. In the World Cup in the coming winters, he only achieved two places in the points, including 20th place in the slalom of Finland in November 2014, and 18th place in the combination of St. Moritz remained his best performance in two other World Cup participations . In 2016/17 he won the overall ranking of the Far East Cup with five wins . After achieving personal bests in the slalom (17th place in Val-d'Isère) and giant slalom (16th place in Adelboden ) in the 2017/18 season , he surprisingly drove second for the first time on January 12, 2018 in the combination of Wengen on the podium. At the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang , he was eliminated in both the combination and the downhill.
