The Pavelló Nou Congost (short: Nou Congost ) is a multi-purpose hall in the Spanish city of Manresa , province of Barcelona , in the autonomous community of Catalonia . It is mainly the home ground of the BAXI Manresa basketball club . The hall offers 5000 seats and is also the headquarters and administrative center of the club.

history

In 1968 the Pavelló Congost was built as a result of the promotion to the Liga Española de Baloncesto . Previously, home games were played on an uncovered basketball field next to the Camp de futbol del Pujolet football stadium . Due to increased demands in the ACB League , the Pavelló Nou Congost was built in 1992, a few meters from the old hall, and in time for the 13th edition of the Lliga Catalana de Bàsquet ( German Catalan basketball league ) in September of that year by Jordi Pujol , President of the Generalitat de Catalunya , inaugurated. Montigalà Joventut defeated FC Barcelona Banca Catalana in the final with 89:79. The sports arena offers up to 30 seats in the press stand and a room for press conferences. The VIP area is located under the roof . On the other side are the rooms of Bàsquet Manresa and the club museum Museu del Bàsquet Manresà . The old Pavelló Congost is still used as a training hall and venue for youth teams. There are other sports facilities around the arena such as an athletics facility , a baseball field , a rugby field and a skate park .
