The Gran Canaria Arena is a multi-purpose hall in the Spanish city ​​of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria on Gran Canaria . During the construction phase it was also known as the Palacio Multiusos de Gran Canaria .

The arena, which opened in March 2014, is located in the southwest of the city, in the sports complex Ciudad Deportiva Siete Palmas , immediately north of the Estadio de Gran Canaria football stadium . The hall, which was built for the 2014 basketball world championship among other things , has a seating capacity of 11,500 and hosts the home games of the Spanish basketball club Herbalife Gran Canaria .

The first game in the hall took place on May 1st, 2014. On the 28th day of the Liga ACB matchday , Herbalife Gran Canaria lost against FC Barcelona 74:82. The Brazilian Marcelo Huertas scored the first basket in the hall for Barça . The Final Eight of the Spanish basketball cup Copa del Rey de Baloncesto 2014/15 took place in the Gran Canaria arena from February 19-22, 2015 . Real Madrid won the final against FC Barcelona 77:71. Herbalife Gran Canaria reached the final of the Eurocup 2014/15 . In the first leg of the final on April 24, 2015, they lost in front of their own audience to BK Chimki from Russia with 66:91.
