The Persian Gulf Pro League 2014/15 was the first season of the highest Iranian football league under this name and the 14th season since its official introduction in 2001. The season began on July 31, 2014 with the first game day and ended with the 30th Matchday ended on May 15, 2015. From December 11, 2014 to January 29, 2015, it was interrupted by a winter break. The defending champion was Foolad FC . Newcomers from the Azadegan League were Padideh FC (Group A), Naft Masjed-Soleyman FC (Group B) and Paykan Tehran (play-off winners).
The two best teams of the season qualified directly for the AFC Champions League 2016 , the third placed started in the qualification for the Champions League . In addition, the Hazfi Cup winner took part in the Champions League. The two worst teams of the season were relegated to the Azadegan League, the 14th played against the play-off winners of the Azadegan League for relegation .

Relegation
The 14th of the Persian Gulf Pro League 2014/15 played against the play-off winners of the Azadegan League in a play-off round with a round trip for relegation . The first leg took place on May 25th and the second leg on May 30th, 2015. The winner qualified for the Persian Gulf Pro League 2015/16 .
