The Peru Township is one of 17 townships in Dubuque County in eastern US -amerikanischen state of Iowa .
geography
The Peru Township is located in eastern Iowa at the confluence of the Little Maquoketa River in the upper Mississippi , which forms the border with Wisconsin . The city of Dubuque , which forms the center of the region at the interface of the states of Iowa, Wisconsin and Illinois , is located immediately south of the Peru Township.
The Peru Township is located at 42 ° 35'38 "north latitude and 90 ° 43'57" west longitude and extends over 74.0 km², spread over 64.7 km² of land and 9.3 km² of water.
The Peru Township borders within Dubuque County in the south on the city of Dubuque and the Dubuque Township , in the southeast on the Center Township and in the west on the Jefferson Township . The northern and eastern borders of the Peru Township are formed by the Mississippi, on the opposite bank of which is Grant County in Wisconsin.

A small section of US Highway 52 runs through the Peru Township in the extreme south , which here is congruent with Iowa Highway 3 . The Iowa section of the Great River Road runs parallel to the Mississippi on a road that is subordinate to the numbering but paved .
A Canadian Pacific Railway runs along the riverbank .
The nearest airport is Dubuque Regional Airport, around 25 km south .
