Peter Edward "Pete" Rose (born April 14, 1941 in Cincinnati , Ohio ) is a retired American baseball player and manager on the positions of in and outfielders. He is one of the best players of his generation and still holds several records in Major League Baseball . Even so, he is not allowed to be elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame as he has admitted to betting on baseball games during his time as a player and manager of the Reds, which has been considered a mortal sin in professional baseball since the Black Sox scandal of 1919. However, he is a member of the WWE Hall of Fame .
