Peter Almásy (born February 11, 1961 in Poprad ) is a former Slovak - French ice hockey player and today's coach .
Career
Peter Almásy began his career as a hockey player with the Springfield Indians , for whom he played a total of ten times in the American Hockey League in the 1981/82 season. However, most of the season he spent with the Baltimore Skipjacks in the Atlantic Coast Hockey League . After he was active for the St. Catharines Saints in the AHL the following season , the attacker did not play ice hockey for three years. In the summer of 1986 Almásy moved to the French Ligue Magnus , where he played for HC Gap . After only one season he paused for another season with club hockey before Almásy in 1988 received a contract with the Français Volants . In his first season with the Volants, he and his team became French champions . After another year Almásy left the Volants again and joined HC Briançon for two seasons . From 1992 to 1996 Almásy was under contract with the Nice Hockey Club , with whom he first played for two years in third-class Division 2, then also for two years in second-class Division 1 . He then ended his career as a professional ice hockey player, but was still in one game in the 1997/98 season for Rouen Hockey Elite 76 in Ligue Magnus and in Division 2 for Nice Hockey Côte d'Azur in the 2004/05 season Ice.
In the 2002/03 season Almásy was first active as a coach when he was in charge of the U22 juniors of Viry-Châtillon Essonne Hockey . From 2003 to 2008 he was the head coach of his former club from Nice in Division 3 and Division 2 behind the gang. In the 2008/09 season he was primarily responsible for the U20 juniors of his former club from Rouen, for which he was active as an assistant coach from 2009 to 2011.
International
For France Almásy took part in the B world championships in 1987 , 1990 and 1991 as well as the A world championships in 1992 and 1993 . In addition, he was in his country's squad at the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary and 1992 in Albertville , where he remained at the 1988 Winter Games without use.
