job

Hauck's theme is shape and color. The sculptures made from wood, mainly with ax, hatchet, chainsaw and angle grinder, can be seen in connection with the sensual, "expressive" works of Karl-Mannfred Rennertz , Georg Baselitz , Klaus Prior, Erwin Wortelkamp , which reappeared in the 1980s . Hauck's visual language developed from observing his immediate surroundings: from landscape forms, trees, bushes, paths, rows of plantings, changes in light, human intervention in the landscape.

In the 80s, the sculptures, which are parallel to the sensual surfaces of the landscape models, asserted themselves in monochrome coloring against the landscape. In the 1990s, rhythmic shapes emerged, which expanded the color scheme. From around 2000 Hauck experimented with "freer painting" on the sculptures. The completed sculptural process was confronted with painting processes. Form and color did not necessarily form a unit, tensions were the result, color tones became the topic. Usually the colors were developed from the dark in layers, in thin glazes. This led to the painterly bas-reliefs on MDF panels, the surfaces of which are created in layers of color with a spatula.
