Peter Paziorek
Peter Paul Paziorek (* 29. May 1948 in Gelsenkirchen-Buer ) is a German politician ( CDU ) and was 2007-2011 President of the Government of the governmental district of Münster .
From 2005 to 2007 he was Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Minister for Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection.
education and profession
After attending secondary school , Paziorek switched to the Schalke Gymnasium and passed his Abitur here in 1968 . He then completed a law degree at the Ruhr University in Bochum , which he completed with the first state examination . After completing his legal clerkship, he also passed the second state examination in 1976. In the same year he entered the service of the city of Krefeld as a city councilor for employment . In 1979 he switched to the CDU Local Political Association in North Rhine-Westphalia as a consultant . A year later he became city director of Breckerfeld . In 1983 he was awarded a doctorate degree at Bielefeld University for his indirect and direct election of the landscape assembly in North Rhine-Westphalia. jur. PhD. Paziorek was then city director of his hometown Beckum from 1983 to 1990 .
Paziorek played in the 1970s for the BG Eurovia Buer , in the 1970/71 season of the National Basketball League belonged and in 1974 merged with the Basketball department of FC Schalke 04th From 1994 to January 2006 he was a member of the supervisory board of FC Schalke 04 and from 2007 to 2013 a member of the honorary council . In summer 2013 he was elected to the honorary committee of the association.
Since March 2009 he has been a member of the Board of Trustees of the Künstlerdorf Schöppingen Foundation .
Peter Paziorek is married and has two children.
Political party
In 1968 Paziorek became a member of the CDU and in 1969 of the Junge Union . From 1969 to 1974 he was district chairman of the Junge Union Gelsenkirchen. From 1990 to 2003 he was deputy chairman of the CDU district association Münsterland . Paziorek has been a member of the CDU regional executive committee in North Rhine-Westphalia since 2000 and has also been deputy state chairman since 2005. Since 1996, Paziorek has also been regional chairman of the CDU organization OMV in North Rhine-Westphalia .

Paziorek was a member of the German Bundestag from 1990 to August 31, 2007 . From 2000 to 2005 he was chairman of the working group on the environment, nature conservation and reactor safety and at the same time environmental policy spokesman for the CDU / CSU parliamentary group . He resigned his mandate due to his appointment as District President of Münster.
Peter Paziorek has always entered the Bundestag as a directly elected member of the Warendorf constituency . In the 2005 Bundestag election he received 50.3% of the first votes .
Public offices
On November 23, 2005, Paziorek was appointed Parliamentary State Secretary to the Federal Minister for Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection in the federal government led by Chancellor Angela Merkel . On June 5, 2007, the North Rhine-Westphalian state cabinet decided to appoint him as the successor to Jörg Twenhöven as district president of Münster on September 1, 2007 . Paziorek retired early on May 29, 2011 for personal reasons.
