Peter Schindler (journalist)

Peter Schindler (* 1930 in Grosshöchstetten ; † August 2005 in Spiez ) was a Swiss journalist and politician ( FDP ).

Life

Schindler grew up as the son of a small farmer in Grosshöchstetten. He was a secondary school teacher, became editor of the newspaper Der Bund and worked as a public relations advisor. From 1968 to 1974 he was a free-thinking Grand Councilor in the canton of Bern .

Schindler then became the first editor-in-chief of the Berner Zeitung , which he headed from 1979 to 1982.
