Philip "Phil" Huber (born January 10, 1969 in Calgary , Alberta ) is a retired Canadian ice hockey player who played on the position of striker .
Career
Philip Huber began his career in 1987/88 with the Kamloops Blazers in the Canadian Junior Western Hockey League , for which he played three years. During the NHL Entry Draft in 1989 , he was selected in the eighth round in a total of 149th place by those responsible for the New York Islanders and went for their farm teams , the Richmond Renegades from the East Coast Hockey League and the Capital District Islanders from the American Hockey League , alternately on the ice in the following three years. However, Huber never got the chance to prove himself in the National Hockey League with the Islanders. In the 1993/94 season Huber played for the Salt Lake Golden Eagles and the Kalamazoo Wings in the International Hockey League .
The following season he played for Team Canada , the Flint Generals in the Colonial Hockey League and for the Minnesota Moose in the IHL. Then Huber completed two seasons for the Humberside Hawks in the British Hockey League before moving to Germany for the 1996/97 season.
There he played for two years for EHC Neuwied in the then second-class first division and won the championship with the club in both years and also the DEB League Cup in 1997 . After that, Huber played in the German Ice Hockey League for four years . First he went on the ice for the Revierlöwen Oberhausen , the following two years for the Munich Barons , with whom he became German champions in the first season , and finally one year for the Krefeld Penguins . In the 2002/03 season Huber returned to the 2nd Bundesliga and tied his skates for two years for the Rote Teufel Bad Nauheim . The native Canadian therefore wore the Red Devil's jersey in 102 second division games and scored 39 times.
Huber's last active game year was 2004/05 , when he played in the major league for EV Ravensburg . For the EVR Huber completed 19 games and scored ten points scorer. During the season, however, he moved to Italy for SV Ritten in the A1 series . There he finally ended his career after the season.
