Philipp Gottron

Johann Philipp Gottron (born September 12, 1812 in Mombach ; † January 25, 1881 in Sandusky County ) was a Hessian brickworks owner and politician and a member of the 2nd Chamber of the Estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse .

Philipp Gottron was the son of the bricklayer Hermann Gottron and his wife Barbara, nee Heim. Gottron, who was a Catholic, married Clara née Ready.

After the death of the master mason and mayor (1823 to 1831) Nikolaus Schnell in 1845, he acquired his brick factory in Raunheim , which he operated until 1854.

From 1844 to 1848 he was mayor of Raunheim. From 1851 to 1854 he was a member of the Second Chamber of the Estates. He was elected for the constituency Starkenburg 18 / Groß-Gerau (I) . In May 1854 he emigrated to America with his brother Johannes and the family.
