Pierre Hemard

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Pierre Hémard is a former French car racing driver and racing team owner.

Career in motorsport

In many motorsport publications, Pierre Hémard is not only confused with his older brother Jean , many results lists a Jean-Pierre Hémard who did not exist.

The name Hémard is also closely associated with the small French racing car manufacturer Monopole . The family ran a distillery in France and in the late 1930s took over the majority of the company, which was originally founded in Switzerland. Hémard's long-time friend, Jean de Montrémy , was racing director at Monopole and the family ownership made it obvious that Pierre Hémard competed in his races for Monopole.

He competed four times in the Le Mans 24-hour race . He made his debut in 1954 with Pierre Flahault in Monopole X84 and placed 13th in the overall standings. The result was his best placement at Le Mans.
