The Plymouth Model 30U was a mid- size passenger car manufactured by Chrysler under the brand name Plymouth in the 1930 model year. The cheapest version of the Business Coupé cost only US $ 590, another US $ 75 less than the same model in the previous year.
The car had an enlarged, side-controlled 4-cylinder in-line engine with 3,214 cm³, which delivered an output of 48 bhp (35 kW). The rear wheels were driven via a single-disc dry clutch and a three-speed gearbox with center shift. All four wheels were braked hydraulically. All superstructures with 2 and 4 doors customary at the time were offered. The main difference between the vehicles and the previous U model was that they had a fully chrome-plated grille frame and heavier fenders.
When the model series was superseded by the PA model in May 1931 , 76,950 units had been built, a 30% decrease compared to the previous year's sales figures.
