Počátky ( German origin ) is a district of Kraslice in the Czech Republic .
geography
Geographical location
Počátky is located six kilometers west of the city of Kraslice near the border with Germany and belongs to the Okres Sokolov . The location extends on the southeast slope of the 818 m high Počátecký vrch , the northernmost border point of the old Egerland . The Kuželový vrch (782 m) rises to the northwest and the Hintere Kegelberg (755 m) to the west, already on German territory. Zadní Liboc and Přední Liboc, the two source streams of the Libocký potok (German Leibitschbach ), arise on the local corridor .
Neighboring communities
Neighboring towns are Kostelní and Kámen in the south, and Erlbach in the Vogtlandkreis is about two kilometers away in the west .
history
The origin is first mentioned in 1348 when Rüdiger von Sparneck bought the village from the Waldsassen monastery . The name is probably due to the two Leibitzsch sources. In 1850 the place that had previously belonged to the Schönbach rulership became a district of Kirchberg and in 1919 an independent municipality.
After the Munich Agreement , the place was added to the German Reich and until 1945 belonged to the Graslitz district .
As in all other villages in the area, most of the approximately 270 German-speaking residents were expelled after the Second World War and many houses were demolished because of the proximity to the border.
Up until 1971, the former school building in Počátky, which was built in 1930, was home to the Czech border police.
In 1976 Počátky was incorporated into Kraslice.
