Pokrzywno (German Nesselgrund ) is a village in the powiat Kłodzki in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship in Poland. It is located thirteen kilometers northwest of Bystrzyca Kłodzka ( Habelschwerdt ), to whose urban and rural municipality it belongs.

Pokrzywno is located in the eastern foothills of the Habelschwerdter Mountains on Voivodship Road 388, which runs from Bystrzyca Kłodzka to Polanica-Zdrój ( Altheide-Bad ). Neighboring places are Sokołówka ( Falkenhain ) in the north, Nowy Wielisław ( Neuwilmsdorf ) in the northeast, Starkówek ( Neubatzdorf ) in the southeast and Kostera ( Rinneberg ) and Paszków ( Pohldorf ) in the southeast. The 870 m high Vogelberg ( Smolna ) and the 704 m high Steinberg ( Kamienna Góra ) rise to the southwest .
history
Nesselgrund belonged to the County of Glatz and consisted of two parts that were separated by county boundaries :
- Nesselgrund, part of the district of Glatz with the manor district of Nesselgrund . Since 1874, this share had belonged to the Altheide district and thus to the Glatz district . The district of Nesselgrund was formed for this share in 1911 , which was dissolved again in 1926. At the same time, this share was incorporated into the Altheide rural community .
- Nesselgrund, part of the district of Habelschwerdt with the chief forester . This part belonged to the district of Habelschwerdt and, together with Pohldorf and a forest part of Bad Reinerz, formed its own administrative district since 1874 .
In addition to agriculture and forestry, the occurrence of pure quartz sand , which u. a. was delivered to the Friedrichsgrunder Glashütte.
As a result of the Second World War , in 1945, like almost all of Silesia, Nesselgrund fell to Poland and was renamed Pokrzywno . The German population was expelled. Some of the new residents were displaced from eastern Poland . From 1945 Pokrzywno belonged to the powiat Bystrzycki, which was dissolved in 1975, as well as the Wrocław Voivodeship, which was responsible until then. In 1975 it came to the newly formed Wałbrzych Voivodeship (German: Waldenburg ), which existed until 1998.
