Pollanden is a district of the Middle Franconian community of Alfeld in the district of Nürnberger Land in Bavaria .

location

The village is located on the southeastern edge of Franconian Switzerland , about two kilometers north of Alfeld , whose district has been Pollanden since 1971.

history

During the Middle Ages the place was called "Bonlenten", the name means for the bean fields .

As a result of the administrative reforms carried out in the Kingdom of Bavaria at the beginning of the 19th century, the independent rural community of Pollanden was founded with the second municipal edict. In addition to the main town, the districts Gotzenberg , Lieritzhofen , Seiboldstetten , Waller and Wettersberg belonged to this . The wasteland of Röthenfeld and the hamlet of Wörleinshof emerged later. They were also assigned to the municipality of Pollanden.

Until the municipal reform of the 1960s and 1970s, Pollanden was a politically independent municipality in the Hersbruck district . In 1969 the Gotzenberg part of the community was reclassified to the Thalheim community, which in turn became part of the Happurg community during the regional reform . On April 1, 1971, the remaining districts were incorporated into Alfeld.
