Polt (spelling of ORF Polt. ) Is an Austrian crime film from 2013 . The film is based on the character of the gendarmerie inspector Simon Polt by the Austrian author Alfred Komarek .

action

The former gendarmerie inspector Simon Polt has resigned of his own accord and runs the tavern in his home community for an association. Except for his friend, the policeman Norbert Sailer, he has no more contact with the police. That changes when he and Sailer find a dead man in his vineyard. Everything points to suicide, but Polt has doubts about it. Initially, he even comes under suspicion himself. The dead person is a wine merchant from Munich who regularly buys wine in the area, but who initially nobody claims to have known. In fact, the murdered man is well known not only to the wine growers, but also to their wives, and he is said to have been a father in the village.

There are also difficulties in Polt's personal life; the village school is to be closed and his girlfriend Karin is offered a distant director's position.
