The 1984 Pontins Professional was a snooker tournament in the 1983/84 season . It took place from May 12th to 19th at Pontins' holiday resort in Prestatyn on the north coast of Wales.

Defending champion Doug Mountjoy lost his opening match against John Spencer . The Englishman made it to the final, but lost 7: 9 against his compatriot Willie Thorne .

Prize money

The prize money increased by £ 3,000 compared to the previous year . On the one hand, this was due to the fact that 8 instead of 6 players took part. But there was also £ 500 more each for the semi-finals and the final, just not the prize money, which stayed at £ 3,500.
