The Lech barrage 2 - Prem (Premer Lechsee) is a barrage of the Lech near Füssen in Bavaria . The Lech is dammed here near Prem by an almost 3 km long dam . The reservoir is used by Uniper Kraftwerke GmbH in a run-of-river power plant built between 1970 and 1972 with an output of 19.2 MW to generate energy; it is also used for local recreation.
The dam is an earthfill dam that is provided with a bituminous outer skin. This had to be renovated a few years ago. A 1.8 mm thick plastic sheet made of polypropylene was used for this . 17,550 square meters in the most damaged zone were sealed in this way.
The reservoir between Lech barrage 2 at Prem to the Roßhaupten plant is also a fishing lake. The next barrage above is the Forggensee , also known as the Roßhaupten reservoir.
