Prussia (Saxon noble family)
A lineage with the Pomeranian von Preuss is not proven. A demarcation from the Prussian family of the same name with the Leliwa coat of arms is just as necessary as to the extinct Silesian noble family Prussia.

Preuss is the name of a noble family from Electoral Saxony . With Thammo de Pruz, the sex was first documented on October 1, 1206. The family derived its name from the Pruz manor , on which they have been recorded since 1336. The secured and continuous line of the family begins with Georg Preuß († after 1505), who in 1460 with his brother Konrad Preuß sold the Kleba estate near Dresden and in 1463 acquired the Cavertitz and Schöna estates .
There were other estates in Saxony at Bennewitz , Camitz , Ilkendorf , Kertitz , Kottewitz , Pulsitz and Rittmitz , Trebnitz and finally at Wendischbora .
Several members of the family served as officers in the Saxon army .
