Prok ( Nepali प्रोक ) is a village and a Village Development Committee (VDC) in Nepal in the Gorkha district .

The village of Prok is located at an altitude of 2400  m on the upper reaches of the Budhigandaki . Up the valley are the VDCs Lho and Samagaun . In the north, the VDC borders on Tibet . In the south of Prok lies the Manaslu massif , in the north the mountains of the Kutang Himal . In the mountains south of Prok lies the mountain lake Kalchhuman . The Manaslu circular route runs through Prok.

Residents

At the 2011 census, the VDC Prok had 575 inhabitants (273 of them male) in 187 households.

Prok consists of several villages and hamlets . The most important are:

  • Ghap ( 2360  m )
  • Namrung ( 2620  m )
  • Prok or Prok Bazar ( 2400  m )
