Palungtar ( Nepali पालुङटार ) is a city ( municipality ) in the Gorkha district in central Nepal .
The city in the far southwest of the district was created at the end of 2014 through the amalgamation of the Village Development Committees Amppipal , Chyangli , Gaikhur and Palungtar . It is located on the left bank of the Marsyangdi below the confluence of the Chepe . The city has an airfield, Palungtar Airport . The urban area covers 84.9 km².
Residents
In the 2011 census, the VDCs, from which the city of Palungtar emerged, had 23,461 inhabitants (10,080 of them male) in 6,039 households.
