Samagaun ( Nepali सामागाउँ ) is a village and a Village Development Committee (VDC) in Nepal in the Gorkha district .

The village of Samagaun (also Sama ) lies at an altitude of 3500  m on the upper reaches of the Budhigandaki . Down the valley lies Lho . In the north, the VDC borders on Tibet . In the south of Samagaun lies the Manaslu massif , in the west the Peri Himal and in the northeast the mountains of the Kutang Himal . The mountain lake Birendra Taal is located above Samagaun at an altitude of about 3680  m . The Manaslu circular route runs through Samagaun.

Residents

At the 2011 census, Samagaun had 604 inhabitants (281 of them male) in 197 households.
