Psilolechia lucida (also yellow-fruited sulfur lichen , syn .: Biatora lucida , Lecidea lucida ) is a type of crusty lichen from the Pilocarpaceae family thatoccurs on acidic rock in areas protected from rain.

Psilolechia lucida is a lichen planus, i. H. their thallus lies close to the base. It forms a powder-like to granular bed, partly with irregular cracks, of a light yellow-green color. Apothecia are rare, then convex to spherical with a rimless yellow-orange disc of waxy appearance, which reaches a diameter of up to 0.36 mm. The ascospores have dimensions of 4–5 × 1–1.5 µm. The photobiont is a coccale, Trebouxia -like green alga.
distribution
The species is found in North and South America, Europe, Asia, Tasmania and Hawaii. In Europe, the northern area boundary runs through southern Fennoscandia . Psilolechia lucida settles on acidic rock (silicate or sandstone), almost always in shady areas protected from rain, such as rock overhangs. It can also be found on anthropogenic substrates such as walls or gravestones. Tree bark is also rarely colonized.
