Qassinnguit [ qasːiŋːuitˢʰ ] (according to the old spelling K'agssínguit ) is a deserted Greenlandic settlement in the Nuuk district in the commune qarfik Sermersooq .

location

Qassinnguit is located on the north bank of the Kapisillit Kangerluat . 7 km south-southeast is Itinnera , 9 km east Kapisillit and 7 km east-northeast Neriunaq .

history

Qassinnguit was founded in 1914 by a fox hunter named Abia. The place was part of the Qoornoq community .

Several other families followed and by 1918 there were already 36 people living in Qassinnguit. There were four houses at the living space. There were three hunters and four fishermen among the residents. There was also an untrained reader. The population lived mainly from hunting reindeer and a little less from hunting foxes and seals.

Qassinnguit was given up again in 1928.
