The Radioamateurs du Luxembourg (RL) are an amateur radio association in Luxembourg . Licensed radio amateurs from all over Luxembourg, but also other members from all over the world, have come together in the RL . However, admission to participate in the amateur radio service is not a prerequisite for membership.
Structure and numbers
The association represents the Luxembourg radio amateurs in the International Amateur Radio Union .
history
The association was founded in 1937 as the "Réseau Luxembourgeois des Amateurs d'Ondes Courtes" and entered in the commercial register on April 16, 1973. On the occasion of the 75th anniversary, the Luxembourg Post issued a special postage stamp and the association renamed itself “Radioamateurs du Luxembourg”.
General services
Dispatch of QSL cards
Many radio amateurs maintain a lively exchange of QSL cards . Sending each individual QSL card as a postcard would result in high costs and in some countries also cause the problem that the postal system is not sufficiently developed to ensure reliable delivery. The RL collects the members' QSL cards and organizes delivery to QSL offices around the world.
In Luxembourg there is only one official QSL office which is operated by the RL, see web links.
