The Rødovre Mighty Bulls are the professional team of the Danish ice hockey club Rødovre SIK from Rødovre , which was founded in 1961. The club's first team has been playing in Denmark's top division, today's Metal Ligaen , since 1964 .
history
The Rødovre Mighty Bulls, which were founded in 1961 under the name Rødovre SIK (Rødovre Skøjte og Ishockey Klub), won the Danish Championship for the first time in 1978 . From the late 1970s to the early 1990s, Rødovre was the strongest team in Danish ice hockey and won four other championship titles. In addition, they were runner-up four times during this period. The Mighty Bulls achieved their last major success by winning the championship in the 1998/99 season. Two years later they failed because of Herning Blue Fox . In the 2008/09 and 2012/13 seasons, the team reached third place in the playoffs.
The club's second team has been back in the 1st division since 2007 .
