rbb 88.8 is the regional program of the RBB for Berlin . Konrad Kuhnt is the program director . You can receive rbb 88.8 on the VHF frequency 88.8  MHz in Berlin and parts of Brandenburg as well as in the Berlin cable network on 94.90 MHz and on DAB + digital radio .

history

The station emerged from the SFB 1 program of Sender Freies Berlin , which had existed since June 1, 1954. From January 1, 1992, the SFB was the public broadcaster for all of Berlin and no longer just for West Berlin . SFB 1 was renamed Berlin 88.8 and later 88 Eight .

After the merger of SFB and ORB to RBB in May 2003, the station with its regional program for the city of Berlin was retained and was renamed Radio Berlin 88.8 on November 7, 2005 as part of a relaunch and has been again since February 4 2019 his current name rbb 88.8 . The current slogan is: "80s, 90s, 100% Berlin".

The program is produced in Berlin at the Haus des Rundfunks . A separate program is organized between 5 a.m. and midnight, during the rest of the time the ARD joint program ARD Popnacht , produced by SWR3 , is taken over. Between 10 p.m. and midnight, rbb 88.8 and Antenne Brandenburg do the show Pop nach ten .

Since March 2010 the live stream has also been offered as an MP3 stream.

From September 2013 to the end of March 2014, Radio Berlin broadcast 88.8 individual programs from a studio on Boulevard Berlin in Steglitz .
