Radio 700 is a radio station that was founded in Euskirchen in 2002 to mark its 700th anniversary, but has been based in the German-speaking community of Belgium since 2009 . The musical focus is on hits and popular music. After moving to East Belgium , the station kept its name, as the town of Botrange in the center of the transmission area is the highest point in Belgium at 700 m above sea level. M. marked. The program operator and license holder is VoG Privater Hörfunk in Ostbelgien.

program

Like many private broadcasters, “Radio 700 - Schlager & Oldies” uses a horizontal program schedule that includes daily broadcasts. There are also special programs that run primarily on weekends or in the evening. During the day there is news at five to half a.m. and the weather at five to half a.m. Regional news on the VHF frequencies run Monday-Saturday at five to half a.m. Further regional program elements include excursion tips, service topics and the weekday event calendar.

Distribution channels

The program is broadcast on the VHF transmitter Elsenborn 90.1 MHz with a power of 1 kW, on the transmitter Steffenshausen 101.7 MHz with a power of 2 kW and on the transmitter Eupen on 101.2 MHz with a power of 5 kW transfer. The program can also be received worldwide via the Internet.

Shortwave service

The stations on the shortwave frequencies 3985 kHz, 6005 kHz and 7310 kHz broadcast the program daily for different target areas at different times until 2016. Since September 11, 2008, Radio 700 has been using a special double delta loop transmission antenna for this purpose , which despite the low transmission power of 1 kW was able to achieve good field strengths in various parts of Europe.

In 2016, the transmitter in Kall switched to the new program management of the shortwave service. Programs from foreign services, legal radio pirates and messages from the private Hamburg coastal radio station DP07 are now broadcast via shortwave . Radio 700 was initially a separate program window, but was later deleted.

The shortwave service sends out QSL cards for receipts with a return postage in the form of a postage stamp or an IRC attached.
