history
The place was probably originally called "villa Mathei" . Such a name only appeared as a parish in the Peterspfennigregister of the year 1326 in the deanery Zator of the diocese of Krakow and again in the years 1337-1339. In 1356 and 1357 the parish of Radocza was mentioned, but in 1358 the parish “villa Mathei” was mentioned in its place . The name is probably derived from the first name Radosz (< Radosław ).
Politically, the village originally belonged to the Duchy of Auschwitz , which existed from 1315 during the period of Polish particularism . Since 1327 consisted suzerainty of the Kingdom of Bohemia . Since 1445 it belonged to the Duchy of Zator , which was sold to Poland in 1494.
During the first partition of Poland in 1772, Radocza became part of the new Kingdom of Galicia and Lodomeria of the Habsburg Empire (from 1804).
In 1918, after the end of the First World War and the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy, Radocza came to Poland. This was only interrupted by the occupation of Poland by the Wehrmacht in World War II . It then belonged to the district of Bielitz in the administrative district of Katowice in the province of Silesia (since 1941 province of Upper Silesia ).
From 1975 to 1998 Radocza was part of the Bielsko-Biała Voivodeship .
