Raileigh Goessling (born October 21, 1991 ) is an American biathlete .

Raileigh Goessling lives in Esko and starts for the Maine Winter Sports Center . He contested his first international championships at the Junior World Championships in Ruhpolding in 2008 and was 92nd in the individual, 80th in the sprint and 19th in the relay race. A year later , he finished 40th in the individual, 32nd in the sprint, 46th in the pursuit and eighth in the relay at Canmore . In Torsby he took part in his third Junior World Championship in 2010 and ran to 45th place in the individual, 69th in the sprint and 19th in the relay competition. In 2010 Goessling was in Nové Město na Moravě 87th of the individual, 37th of the sprint, 53rd of the pursuit and 19 again with the relay. It was followed by the junior races of the open European championships in 2011 in Ridnaun , where he was 41st of the individual, 43rd of the Sprints, 42nd in the pursuit and with Grace Boutot , Corrine Malcolm and Ethan Dreissigacker, eleventh in the US mixed relay. The last international championships were the 2012 Junior World Championships in Kontiolahti . Goessling was 74th in the individual, 75th in the sprint and 14th in relay. At the junior races of the North American Invitational 2012 in Jericho , he was second behind Rémi Grégoire Jacques in the sprint and behind Ethan Dreissigacker in the pursuit and third behind Ethan Dreissigacker and Casey Smith in the mass start race.

Goessling achieved his first good placement in the men's performance category at the Canadian Championships in Valcartier in 2012 , where he finished fifth in the mass start. He achieved his breakthrough in the 2012/13 season in the Biathlon NorAm Cup . In Valcartier he was third behind Kurtis Wenzel and Marc-André Bédard in the sprint, and he won the pursuit race based on it in front of Marc-André Bédard and Macx Davies . At the North American Championships in Whistler in 2013 he finished seventh in the sprint, won the bronze medal in the pursuit behind Kurtis Wenzel and Nathan Smith and came in seventh again in the mass start race.
