Rainer Meifert

Rainer Meifert (born June 27, 1967 in Kellinghusen ) is a German actor , producer, photographer, singer and former model .

Life

Meifert grew up in Kellinghusen. In 1985 Meifert founded his punk band Extremity with a few friends , with whom he played mainly in northern Germany . However, since the income was very low, the band broke up after a while. After a few stays abroad, Meifert moved to Kiel , where he sold jeans and was discovered as a model. His first campaign was photographed nationwide for the New Yorker . Meifert then moved to Hamburg , worked in various bars and started working as a photographer. His work included portraits of Karl Lagerfeld . In 1995 he was discovered as an actor in a bar. Meifert made his first acting experiences in Paris , where he starred in the pilot for the French sitcom Hélene et les Garcons . Then Meifert moved back to Hamburg and worked at the Off-Theater Hamburg (today atrium theater). Meifert was discovered by Ted Linow , the owner of the modeling agency Mega Model Agency , and worked as a model for several years. He worked with internationally renowned photographers such as Patrick Demarchelier , Joachim Baldauf and Jim Rakete . Among other things, Meifert worked for international model agencies such as Marylin Gaultier and Boss Model Management in London . Meifert financed his acting lessons with modeling jobs in Paris, New York City and London. Meifert first caused a stir in 1997 when he appeared in an Esso advertisement in which he bought cucumbers for his pregnant girlfriend . Meifert played his best-known role in Gute Zeiten, Bad Zeiten , where he was Dr. Jan Wittenberg embodied. After leaving, Meifert criticized the production method of the series.

In 1999 he had a serious car accident with his girlfriend at the time, GZSZ actress Simone Hanselmann . The two separated in 2001. Meifert's claims that Sabrina Setlur had persecuted him for two years until he went to bed with her made the headlines and ultimately had to pay Setlur 20,000 euros in compensation for pain and suffering.

In 2002 Meifert released his first solo single: This Is Not a Lovesong . In April 2003 the Berliner Kurier announced that from September 2003 Meifert would be seen in a leading role for the first time after the accident: in the play Glamorama . Glamorama readings took place in 2005.

Since 2005 Meifert has organized the reading and event series “The Glitterati” in the Berlin trendy restaurant Felix , in which many well-known actors, singers, artists and friends of Meifert participated. Meifert produced a special event by “The Glitterati” for the benefit of the 30th anniversary of the “ People for People ” foundation founded by Karlheinz Böhm . The event took place in the Café am Neuen See and was played by artists, including Ben Becker and Samy Deluxe . In 2011, “The Glitterati” became a permanent production, the “Rock'n Roll Circus”, in which Felicitas von Anhalt , Marian Meder and Eva-Maria May participated, among others .

In 2013 Meifert made his comeback as an actor with a smaller role in Klaus Lemke's film No Big Thing . In the same year Meifert shot the film A Perception with Hermes Phettberg and Henning Gronkowski . In 2014, Meifert shot the film Unterwäschelügen with Andreas Bichler , Shermine Shahrivar and Kida Khodr Ramadan under the direction of Klaus Lemke . From the originally planned festival film, however, only a 3-minute clip with no sound remained.

In an interview with the BZ in June 2013, Meifert stated that from 2002 to April 2012 he was severely addicted to drugs; since then he says he has been clean. In November 2014, the TV station ZDF showed Neo Meifert's report Auskokst - my drug trip . In the film Meifert addresses his own experiences with cocaine and in Colombia explores the question of where the drug comes from and under what circumstances it is produced and traded.
