Rainfeld is a village and a cadastral municipality in the Lower Austrian market town of St. Veit an der Gölsen with 791 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020).

Rainfeld is located between Sankt Veit and Rohrbach an der Gölsen and is traversed by the Gölsen . The Halbach flows from the south into the Gölsental and joins the Gölsen at Rainfeld. The place is located at an altitude of 391  m above sea level. A. .

Settlement development

At the turn of the year 1979/1980 there were a total of 105 building areas with 49,568 m² and 91 gardens on 47,596 m² in the cadastral community Rainfeld , in 1989/1990 there were 110 building areas. In 1999/2000 the number of building areas had increased to 710 and in 2009/2010 there were 335 buildings on 748 building areas.

Land use

The cadastral community is characterized by agriculture. 144 hectares were used for agriculture at the turn of the year 1979/1980 and 40 hectares were forest areas. In 1999/2000 agriculture was carried out on 114 hectares and 47 hectares were designated as areas used for forestry. At the end of 2018, 105 hectares were used as agricultural land and forestry was carried out on 48 hectares. Rainfeld's average soil climate is 37.8 (as of 2010).
