history

Until the beginning of the 19th century Raitenberg was under the sovereignty of the imperial city of Nuremberg . The village and community rulership, which is decisive for regional sovereignty in the Franconian region , was exercised by the Velden nursing office in its function as bailiff's office . The high jurisdiction over the place was exercised by this office, this in its role as Fraischamt . Raitenberg became Bavarian in 1806 after the imperial city of Nuremberg was annexed by the Kingdom of Bavaria in breach of the imperial constitution . The village thus became part of the New Bavarian territories that were taken over by the "Napoleonic land consolidation" , which was only subsequently legalized in July 1806 with the Rhine Confederation Act.

As a result of the administrative reforms in the Kingdom of Bavaria at the beginning of the 19th century , Raitenberg became part of the rural community of Treuf with the Second Community Edict in 1818 , which also included the districts of Gerhelm , Henneberg , Immendorf , Kreppling , Münzinghof , Siglitzberg , Siglitzhof and Stöppach . In the course of the municipal regional reform in Bavaria in the 1970s, the municipality of Treuf was split up and Raitenberg was incorporated into Velden together with Gerhelm, Henneberg, Immendorf and Münzinghof. In 2018 Raitenberg had 135 inhabitants.

traffic

The district road LAU 11 , coming from the east-south-east of Rupprechtstegen , crosses the town and continues in a west-north-west direction to Wallsdorf . The Franconian Marienweg runs through the village .
