The Nadymski rajon ( Russian Надымский район ) is a Rajon in the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug in Russia .
history
The Rajon was founded on December 10, 1930. The administrative seat was initially the village of Che. In 1936 Nyda became the administrative center. On March 9, 1972, Nadym , which received city rights on the same day , was finally designated as the new administrative center.
economy
Natural gas production began in the fall of 1967 . In 2005, 40% of all Russian gas came from this region. The estimated gas supply is seven billion cubic meters, while the oil supply is 250 million tons.
